Matt was the host of HGTV's room by room, first airing in December 1994 with Co-host Shari Hiller. Room by Room was the first show to air on HGTV and is the longest running program in the Decorating Category in Television History.

Matt and Shari are currently the designers and content provider for their website MattandShari.com where his involvement includes, writing, directing and editing as well as videographer of original content for the site. He is also the web manager of the site.
